K-Line is looking for a Powerline Operations Manager who will report to the Director of Powerline Operations. The Powerline Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, ensuring seamless business functions, and contributing to the strategic planning of operations to improve productivity and efficiency. This role involves managing operational workflows, coordinating with various departments, and ensuring alignment with the organization’s goals. The Powerline Operations Manager is responsible for building and forecasting short- and long-term work plans, execution of those plans, coordination of human and equipment resources, oversee material coordination working with the materials management team, and lead or assist in job estimations. You will be part of a team that will take part in projects from start to finish. This position will join the Power Division team in our Fredericton, NB Office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership:
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities involving supervising and performance management of a team.
  • Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members, ensuring effective utilization of skills and resources.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to review safety protocols, project plans, and progress updates.
  • Dedicated team player with analytical skills, creative problem solver with effective communication and interpersonal skills. (Many interactions with internal/external customers).
  • Lead, mentor, and supervise an operations team, including Field Operations Supervisors, Crew Leads, Power Linemen and Powerline Apprentices.
  • Ensure clear communication, goal setting, and performance management.
  • Planning:
  • Develop comprehensive resource plans to meet short- and long-range work plan
  • Monitor work progress and work closely with Management and Field teams to establish schedules and deliverables to align the work plan and scheduling criteria.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards and local regulations during the construction and maintenance of power systems.
  • Safety Compliance:
  • Promote a culture of safety by enforcing safety policies and procedures, conducting safety audits, and addressing potential hazards.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical issues, providing technical assistance and guidance to team members.
  • Interpret blueprints, schematics, and work orders to plan and execute work activities.
  • Project Management:
  • Lead operational projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with customer and company goals.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and project progress.
  • Increase productivity of internal and external resources and systems to capitalize on cost effectiveness and process efficiencies.
  • Assists Management team with daily and weekly matrix of day-to-day accomplishments. 
  • Customer Relations:
  • Communicate effectively with clients, internal teams, and other stakeholders regarding project statuses.
  • Address customer concerns and inquiries promptly, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Requirements:
    • Education: Post-secondary University Degree or Technology Diploma would be considered an asset. Trade Equivalent Certificate of Qualification (DCL or PLT)
    • Experience: 3-5+ years’ experience related to resource and work management role in a high-volume environment or a similar role, with a proven record of accomplishment of success. 
    • Skills: Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities. Ability to work under pressure.
    • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
    • Environment: Exposure to electrical hazards, requiring strict adherence to safety protocols. Frequent travel to job sites within the maritime provinces.

    • Full Time – typically Monday to Friday 40-45 hours per week
